I'm David Winters - an MEng final year Product Designer at the University of Nottingham, who has just completed a placement year in the Packaging department at Müller UK & Ireland.

 

At Nottingham I have developed a broad range of design industry based skills. I've been trained in software such as Solidworks, Affinity, Keyshot, Autodesk Sketchbook and MS Office- allowing me to produce the work on display in this portfolio. The course has also improved my technical and design thinking ability.

 

Alongside this, my year in industry has helped me to understand and contextualise how to integrate designed products into FMCG production- and the importance of manufacturability.

 

I am truly lucky that I get to practice the profession I love. This blossomed all the way back at lower school design projects- which included a cruet set and a Subbuteo inspired chocolate box, right through to where I am today.
