Concept Ideation
Below is a selection of concept ideation within numerous design projects undertaken whilst at university. This stage is the first opportunity to come up with concept directions to present to the client before further design refinement occurs in terms of aesthetic and manufacturability.
The sketching examples have been completed in a mixture of digital and physical mediums, and to varying levels of refinement based on the project requirements.
Power Drill Ideation Stages
Final three concept directions [prior to refinement] proposed to client, followed by the initial 'let-out' of rough ideas that led to these. Combining aspects from each individual design area within the let-out pages helped to create detailed, well-considered concepts for the client to choose from. [Year 4, 2022]
Portable BBQ
Ideation
Initial concept directions presented to the client for a Portable BBQ, to cater for up to 20 student age adults. Particular focus was required on the mechanisms to enable easy transportation. [Year 3, 2021]
Tassimo Pod Holder Ideation
Quick directions for an injection-mould ready design for a returnable piece of packaging to hold Tassimo pods [to be sent in the post to a specialist recycling firm]. [Year 3, 2020]
Inter-City Train Interior Ideation
My initial designs for a CrossCountry inter-city train livery, as part of a group project. The four boards encompass the entire area of the carriage, with each group member proposing a singular direction each also. A collaborative decision was made on which parts of each person's idea would be refined into the group's singular final idea. [Year 2, 2020]
